Who we are
AINSQ Academy is an online learning platform operated as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR, AINSQ Academy is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have a question about this policy or wish to exercise any of your rights, contact us through the address published on the site.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, provided when you create an account.
- Learning activity: the courses you enrol in, the lessons you complete and your quiz answers.
- Waitlist interest: the tracks you ask to be notified about.
- Technical data: basic server logs including IP address and browser type, kept for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it
We process your account details and learning activity to provide the service you have asked for — that is, to let you enrol, resume where you left off and see your progress. The lawful basis is performance of a contract.
We use waitlist interest to decide which course to build next and to email you when that track opens. The lawful basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
We use technical logs to keep the service secure and working. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe platform.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the platform: our hosting provider, our database and authentication provider, and our transactional email provider. Each acts on our instructions as a processor.
Lesson videos are embedded from a third-party video platform. When you play a video, that platform may set its own cookies and receive data about your viewing. Their privacy policy governs that processing.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile, which removes your personal data as described above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we use your data, tell you by email.
